"We all moan and groan about the loss of the quality of life through the destruction of our ecology, and yet every one of us, in our own little comfortable ways, contributes daily to that destruction. It's time now to awaken in each one of us the respect and attention our beloved Mother deserves." - Ed Asner

I think that this quote will serves justice to the things that is happening in our nature nowadays.  People are being bombarded by sudden changes in our surroundings and calamities that would have been avoided with proper care and conservation that was mostly taken for granted. So here I am creating a post about things that we (grade school students) can contribute in preserving and making our mother earth feels that we really care. So here it is:

         1. When you are outside, pick up your rubbish, just as you do not litter at home, you should act the same in our “global home."

Waste collection and rubbish disposal play an extremely important role in the global cleanliness and sustainability drive, with people’s health and the conservation of resources being the responsibility of every government. To ease the pressure on government agencies, numerous privately-managed organisations also play a part in these waste management and recycling programs. In many cities it means that local government agencies have been left with the responsibility of overseeing the work done by these privately held organisations.

2.Separate your garbage and recycle.                   Recycling is important, but separating hazardous and non-hazardous wastes is vital. Hazardous waste requires special handling, and hazardous waste in non-hazardous containers can cause serious problems. Since special handling tends to be more expensive, you don’t want to waste money by disposing of non-hazardous waste in hazardous waste containers.

3.BYOB (Bring your Own bag)

Using your own bags means that more plastic bags won’t end up in a landfill or other places where wildlife can become entangled in them or eat them.

4.  Pay attention to how you use water.          Without fresh water you will die in just a few days.  Plain and simple, no sugar coating, it is a simple morbid fact that helps drive the point across, water equals life

 5.  Plant trees

Planting trees is one of the easiest and most sustainable ways to positively affect the environment. We need trees now more than ever!
